In honor of National Correctional Officers Week, Atlanta Corrections Chief Patrick Labat held a special luncheon to honor the employees who make the facility more than just a jail. The detention center helps inmates find work even while they are incarcerated, and the employees routinely participate in community clean-ups, as well as programs that feed the elderly and find shelter for the homeless.

Chief Labat says despite the uncertainty of the jail’s future, corrections employees have responded with the same enthusiasm and work-ethic that have made the detention center one of the best in the country.
