WHAT’S HAPPENING

When the weather gets dangerously cold outside, the City of Atlanta opens its warming centers to protect vulnerable residents.
There’s no law compelling City officials to do that. But Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms believes that under the tenets of One Atlanta, we can do nothing less.
By the way, most of the people who operate the warming centers are City employees, who volunteer long hours to make sure no one in Atlanta is left behind during difficult times.
