The one-cent Municipal Option Sales Tax is one of the ways Atlanta pays for federally mandated replacements and improvements to the city’s aging water and sewer infrastructure. The MOST not only improves our water quality, it’s helped to stave off an estimated 25-percent increase in water and sewer rates.
The MOST is not a new tax. If approved, it simply reauthorizes the one-cent retail sales tax already in place.
And that money has helped finance some of the most transformative projects the city has ever seen, making Atlanta one of the world leaders in watershed innovation.
Look for the MOST on the June 9th presidential primary ballot. Early voting is currently underway.
