Stan Herd is a world-renowned American “earthwork” artist.

His murals are stunning, not just for their imagery, but for the way they are expressed – using the natural landscape as a giant canvas.

When Herd realized that Georgia would become ground zero for one of the most important elections in modern history, he volunteered to come to Atlanta to use his unique talent in the effort to get out the vote.

Instead of making a partisan statement, he chose to create an image that would remind people of the power of their vote – a portrait of the late and legendary Atlanta Congressman John Lewis, crafted – appropriately – in the soil of Freedom Park.
