More than half a million Georgians have now contracted the COVID-19 virus, and, sadly, more than 9-thousand have died.
Despite the development of new vaccines to fight the virus, it will be many months before a significant number of Americans can actually get the shots. In the meantime, holiday surges continue as many people travel and expose each other to the illness.
Mayor Bottoms has consistently urged Atlanta residents to mask up and has issued numerous Executive Orders to maintain the public’s safety.
But ultimately, it’s up to each and every one of us to observe Atlanta-based CDC guidelines like social distancing, handwashing and wearing face masks.
It’s also important to get tested, and thousands of you in our City are listening to the experts – visiting the free testing sites in Fulton County to make sure you know your status and to help with contact tracing if you do test positive.
