The holiday season is a spectacular time in Atlanta.
That’s when the leaves turn every color of the rainbow and begin to fall from the trees. But when they accumulate and quite literally carpet the streets, they can also create big problems for the City’s infrastructure. Storm drains become clogged, and that can lead to flooding when it rains.
Enter the street sweepers.
You can see them day and night going about their solitary – yet important – work, vacuuming up the leaves and other debris that settle in the roadways. And during Operation Clean Sweep, the fleet from the Department of Public Works is more than ready to do its part.
